Glasto 2017: On the Road with Miss Katie Cupcake

Summer 2017 marked Elk & Wolf's first time at Glastonbury Festival but the store was in good hands as our own Miss Katie Cupcake lead the way, setting up camp for the seventh year. Following our recent Miss Katie Cupcake pop-up event down at The Arches we had a good idea of how our vintage and bohemian styles would come together under one tent, and the team was so excited to head out on the road to showcase the best from both our beautiful shops.

As a small independent business our little team is like a wee family and we work really hard together behind the scenes to bring you a unique experience with interesting and beautiful products, many of which are handcrafted by us and made with a ton of love! We aim to bring this to both our stores and Glastonbury was no exception.

Preparation begins weeks in advance with planning what products will suit our Glastonbury customers and developing and producing new jewellery ideas - this year we brought you 100% handmade pom fabulousness as well as more of our signature tea party trinkets and some adorable new miniature creations, to name just a few!

We also take a lot of pride in how we present our products to you so our fab Glasto team spent two whole days in the scorching heat of English summer (not a joke - seriously!) creating our stunning stall. From incredible, colourful handmade signs to creating jewellery displays and even hanging lampshades, everything was there to make sure festival-goers would experience all the quirks of our much-loved stores. 

We absolutely love sharing what we do with people and it was so rewarding to take Elk & Wolf travelling for the first time. We saw a few familiar faces who have kept up with us over the years and we were so happy to share a little bit of Elk with you this time too. 

For those of you that have just discovered us and what we're about we hope you will keep in touch and stay up to date. Or even better, come and say hello to us in Edinburgh - we are super friendly and only slightly bonkers, promise!

For now we are waving goodbye to another incredible year at Glastonbury, thank you for sharing the experience and making memories with us. We are heading home to recharge and make sure we are ready for everything the rest of summer has in store for us, starting with the Edinburgh Festivals - so excited!
