Best of our Fest (and the rest)

As we approach the tail end of another festival season in the city we can't help but feel a little sad to wave goodbye to all the amazing visitors and customers who have made it an incredible month for us.

Here at Elk & Wolf we have embraced The Arches' addition of the Paolozzi pop up as well as the Edinburgh Cocktail Festival right on our doorstep. (We are somehow still sober!) We hope everyone enjoyed discovering our East Market Street haven and that you'll come back to see what more we have to offer in the coming months - we promise it will be worth it, even without the booze!

Our other half and established Fringe veteran, Miss Katie Cupcake, has been flying the flag for us in the heart of the madness, embracing the atmosphere as it overflowed from the Royal Mile into our wee shop. With just enough room to squeeze you all and ourselves in it's been a pretty jam-packed few weeks. We love meeting so many interesting people from all over the world, and that you're so excited to take a piece of our little shop home with you. It's amazing when we get to reconnect with returning customers as well who come and see us every year. A huge thank you from us to you for supporting what we do and loving it as much as us!

Back down here at Elk & Wolf we have also had the pleasure of hosting East End Press again for another screen printing workshop - always a winner! If you missed out this time, rest assured Ellie will definitely be back to share her expertise and creative prowess before the end of the year - all we'll say is 'Christmas' has already been floating about so keep checking back in with us to make sure you don't miss anything!

In the meantime we are very excited to welcome The Squid Ink Co. to our Arch for the first time in the coming weeks, who will be teaching the basics of weaving and helping you create your own cool woolen wall hanging to take home. Everything is provided including your own loom and tool kit to keep - as well as all of the colours to choose from!

The workshop takes place on Sunday 17 September, 3-5pm and you can book your tickets direct with The Squid Ink Co. here. We're far too excited for our own good.

As well as exciting new workshops and crafts to learn we have also been lucky enough to become home to some new stockists we can't get enough of already. We've taken on a greener tinge than usual in the shop of late with gorgeous new beauties from geo-fleur and the prettiest blooms from fellow locals Pyrus Botanicals.

Up at Miss Katie Cupcake we'll be keeping stocked with all your favourites as well as some new additions to current collections (poms!) Basically there is a ton of stuff to look forward to even though we have to say goodbye to the weird, wonderful and wacky that is August.

So we bid you farewell Edinburgh festivals until we see you next year to do it all again. For those of you getting back to normal with us after a month feeling like we're on holiday, we will see you in September after a long nap!
